Buzz Knight is a Radio Executive who has been involved in every aspect of the Radio industry. He is currently Founder and Head of Strategy at Buzz Knight Media. His latest content creation is the new podcast "Takin' A Walk".
Originally from Connecticut, his Radio days began in college at the University of Dayton at the campus radio station. He landed his first Program Director job at WRKI/Danbury, CT while also getting some air time at 102.7 WNEW/New York. His Rock Radio journey continued as he went on to land subsequent Program Director roles for WLVQ/Columbus, WNOR/Norfolk and WZLX/Boston.
Radio company, Greater Media then hired Buzz for the role of Senior VP/Programming. During that time, Buzz was tasked with many responsibilities including cultivating air talent and managing the brand strength of the company’s radio stations.
In part three of this four part AIRCHECK session, Buzz talks about his love and passion for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Regarding the Radio Ratings industry, Buzz emphasizes the explains the importance and need for better audience measurement. Buzz also has advice for newcomers to the Radio industry – hint: be multi-faceted in engagement methods with various audiences (traditional over the air listeners, streamers, etc). There’s also an AM Radio innovation project to “Save AM Radio.” Buzz is involved and shares some thoughts.
